Message Basically when you have a set of aftermarket headers, your biggest concern is cracking, regardless of material even though some is better than others. Many, MANY sports cars come with flex joints to lower stress on the headers in case you bang the exhaust, jar it around, etc. The Z did not come with them unfortunately.

So the flex joints are recommended on for added security if you have aftermarket headers. Good to have, just in case.
